Dr Kate judges WA’s cutest pet at The West and countdown to 2014 Perth Pet Expo

I certainly had my work cut out for me with fellow judges yesterday at The West offices. Together we poured over 1200 entries received from readers who had entered their adorable pets in the WA’s cutest pet competition. The results will be revealed in tomorrow’s West, but there have been three winners selected that stole all the judges heart.

I also had a great chat with the organisers of 2014 Perth Pet Expo, Momentum Forum Events who have confirmed that there will be over 40 exhibitors over the weekend at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is going to be a great family fun day and will have lots of interesting things to see, do and try. There’ll be miniature pony rides, a crocodile exhibit, baby farm animals, freestyle dog dancing, a cat walk and so much more.

Right now, I’m putting the finishing touches on my presentation on Brain Fitness and how it improves your pet’s overall health and well-being. I’ll be on stage at 10am and 1pm on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 December at the Perth Convention Centre letting the crowds in on all that I’ve learnt over my time as a veterinary behaviourist with plenty of DIY tips and tricks to make life with your pet even better. I’ll also be presenting seminars on how to stuff my favourite enrichment device, the world famous Kong, with lots of goodies for dogs and cats to keep them, healthy, happy and problem solving while seeking food rewards. Make sure to visit me at the Kalmpets-Kong stand too during the day.

Also, tune in to Today Tonight tomorrow evening at 6.30pm on Channel 7 to hear more from me on behaviour in our beloved companion animals and how to solve problems for the benefit of all.
